Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens,
praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sound and moon;
Praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for at his command they were created,
and he established them for ever and ever -
he issued a decree that will never pass away.
Psalm 148, 1-6
Creation praises Christ: the angels and all of nature. My body is part of nature, is creation, created by HIM. So I praise God with nature and my body.
According to the monks' teaching, as handed down to us by Antonius and Hildegard von Bingen, nature did not sin, but man. Because: God did not create that people are hopeful and malicious. (Jesus sirach 10:21)
Now when I praise God with my soul and my body, I agree with the praise of the whole healing creation. My soul becomes like my body. So it awakens a great potential in me, the life force, which is Christ himself - Holy Spirit.
In Germany we say: An apple a day keeps the doctor away. With the monks of the old church we can say: If you praise God, then you live very healthy.
So go to the church choir! It's like medicine (but without costs).
