Sunflower in my garden

The sunflower grows well all over the tropics. The plant takes its name from sun and warmth. It is in motion all day long. It always aligns itself with the sun. It needs enough water. If there is a lack of water, the leaves fall off and the plant wilts.

Depending on the breed, the sunflower becomes very tall. It has relatively short roots, it is also sensitive to too much water. This was observed this year. Many sunflower fields were destroyed by heavy rain.

The ripe seeds and flower heads are harvested. The rest of the plant is a valuable animal feed and can also be used for foundations.

The ripe seeds contain valuable fatty acids and proteins. They can be eaten raw (for example when traveling). The seeds contain the sunflower oil. It is one of the most important calorie carriers to choose from our food and animal oil. It moisturizes and nourishes the skin.

Please take care for your seeds

Birds love sunflower seeds. But this is no longer the case today. Something has changed. Highly cultivated and genetically modified seeds have been on the market since 1950. Better and higher yields should be achieved. The highest possible harvest and the highest possible profit should be brought in.

A basic rule of alternative medicine is: Your food should be your medicine (Hippocrates). This rule no longer applies today. The healing power of food has been lost in the new varieties. In our country e.g. many people can no longer tolerate bread because the wheat is raised too high. Bread from old wheat varieties Emmer, Kamut), on the other hand, is generally well tolerated. They are rediscovered and plant again.

The sunflowers were also raised. If you want to use them for medicine, you have to pay attention to old varieties !!!!

Sunflower oil - medicine from my kitchen

Sunflower oil is one of the most valuable edible oils we know. It has a high content of vitamin E. This vitamin has an important medical role in our body. It protects our body cells against "free radicals“.

About free radicals

Free radicals are aggressive oxygen compounds in our body. They can damage and destroy our cells and tissues. They arise increasingly through modern living conditions such as

Environmental pollution

Alcohol

Smoke

Drugs such as birth control pills

Radiation exposure

Tumor diseases

Stress

Many health problems are the result of cell damage. Examples are diabetes, arteriosclerosis, allergies, immune deficiency, cancer, heart attack, rheumatism… ..Therefore, it is very important to protect yourself against it.

Sunflower oil - my medicine

The free radicals damage our body if they take over and the organism can no longer control them. The healthy body has protective mechanisms. They are called antioxidants. A balanced diet with many vitamins helps the body.

Sunflower oil with its high proportion of vitamin E has such a protective function. It is destroyed by sunlight. That is why it is important to protect it from sunlight. For this you have to darken the containers. It is best to keep it in dark glass containers. Sunflower oil is a valuable cooking oil for our health. It is like medicine.
