Treatment Strategy of the Natural Medicine: Fever

In naturopathy, fever is not reduced with medication in viral diseases. Fever is a body's defense mechanism that defeats the virus.

Sweet cure

If you feel a cold approaching, a sweat cure is often very helpful. The best time is the afternoon. You drink hot tea in a hot room and lie down in bed so that you sweat profusely. Then you have to change the bedding. Sweating strengthens your immune system and gives your body more strength to fight the viruses.

The wet sock

If you have a high fever, this is a very good way to naturally lower the fever.

You need

  • light cotton socks
  • warm wool socks
  • cold water.

What do I have to do?

  • Hold the cotton socks under cold water, preferably from the tap.
  • Wring them out well and pull them to your feet.
  • Put the dry wool socks over it. The wet cotton socks must be completely covered.
  • Lie down in bed and sleep.

At a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, the cotton sock is dry and needs to be replaced.

It is important that the cotton socks are not too wet, but wrung out very well.

Calf Compress

I didn't see a wool sock in Tanzania. Here you can change the method slightly.

You need

  • a cotton handkerchief that is large enough to cover your calf
  • thick cotton cloth (kanga).
  • cold water.
  • Dip the handkerchief in cold water and wring it out well.
  • Wrap it around the calves (lower part of the legs).
  • Wrap the thick cloths over it so that no wet cloth looks out.
  • Go to bed. When the handkerchief is dry, wet it again.

Ask someone to help you.

Treatment goal

The body doesn't like cold, wet feet. The temperature difference accelerates blood circulation, which in turn strengthens the immune system. This relieves the body, it no longer has to fight the disease with a high fever, the fever drops.

Important: if the feet are cold before the treatment, they must be warmed up by rubbing them.
